Saints in the Community are proud to announce that Club legend Henry Hall has been appointed as the first Community Trust Ambassador.

Henry is still the third top scorer of all time, with 114 goals from 256 appearances – all of which were scored when Saints were playing at the top level.

Willie Ormond knew what he was doing most of the time and none more so than when he broke Saints’ transfer fee record by paying Stirling Albion £15,000 for their diminutive forward.

Playing in what is widely recognised as the best Saints team ever (for older fans at least), Henry was able to take advantage of the exceptional quality of the other players available to Willie Ormond and the fans were treated to some wonderful football and some great goals.

Henry had the ability to always be in the right place at the right time and able to get on the end of defence splitting passes from McPhee or Whitelaw, a knock down from McCarry or Pearson, a perfect cross or cut back from Aird or Aitken or most often a tap in after John Connolly had bamboozled the opposition.

As the line from the 1970’s Muirton Park terracing chant said …

“We all agree, Henry is better than anyone”
