Following on from the work carried out by the St. Johnstone Community Department since the early 1990's, The Trust, in partnership with the Scottish FA, provides support to potential coaches in two main areas:-
Scottish F.A. Coaching Courses
In Service Training
We offer Scottish F.A. Coach Education Courses and these normally take place either at Kilgraston School, Bridge of Earn or at McDiarmid Park. These courses give local coaches the opportunity to progress to level 1.3 qualification.
Our team of Saints in the Community coaches attend regular In-Service sessions, designed to enhance their knowledge of football and the positive approach to working with young players.
Forthcoming Scottish F.A. Coach Education Courses in 2017 for adults aged 16 years or above are listed below.
Venue for courses: KILGRASTON SCHOOL, BRIDGE OF EARN or McDIARMID PARK, PERTH.
NOTE: A discounted rate is available for certain courses to coaches from clubs who have or are working towards the appropriate SFA Quality Mark status.
If you are unsure if this applies to you, contact your club or check the Scottish FA database.
When you have booked a course with the SFA, you can pay online by clicking the button on this page.
Contact Atholl or Danny on 01738 459095 if you would like a chat about the courses.
IN SERVICE TRAINING
Members of the Saints in the Community Football Coaching Team are supplied with Training Kit, Coaches Handbook and Scottish FA Policy Booklets.
They also have the opportunity to attend various In-Service Training Courses, designed to highlight our ethos and coaching procedures.
We are delighted to embrace the concept of Positive Coaching Scotland and place great emphasis on kids having fun, giving maximum effort and respecting all aspects of the game.
We have a mixture of experienced and trainee coaches and aim to provide an environment that promotes ongoing personal development.
GET INVOLVED: If you are interested in becoming a member of our team please do not hesitate to get in touch.
The relationship between local youth football clubs and schools in their area is key to the delivery of the McDONALD’S PROGRAMME.
We work with two clubs per year, helping them to promote their activities in their local area and offering support at training sessions and on Coach Education Courses.
Clubs involved must be registered for the Scottish FA Quality Mark Scheme and should be open to creating new teams and providing opportunities for boys and girls of any ability
